More detail:
2024-04-28: Lolo is a 5.5 yr old (DOB 10/26/2018), chocolate female, AKC English Lab, at 74 lbs. She is a petite girl, could shed a little weight too. She came to SCLRR as an owner turn in because her owner moved.

This gentle and super sweet girl is as best as it gets. She is PERFECT. She is an absolute pleasure to have around, completely non-destructive (except for some toys that might explode if playing with another dog). She loves her shorter walks and loves playing with other dogs. Yet, she settles down nicely to take her beauty naps. She is great on leash and super wonderful in the car. She is VERY calm and mellow but will activate if playing with another dog. She likes to fetch but not obsessed with it. Her favorite game is tug-of-war with another dog.

Lolo will be your shadow at home - she just loves her humans and be part of the family. She is a cuddler and loves sitting on the couch next to her people with her head on your lap. She is housetrained but refuses to use the doggie door even though we showed her how. You have to let her out every few hours. She is great off leash. She is not a long-distance walker and would prefer shorter walks - under 3 miles or so but is happy with 1 mile walks too.

She knows how to swim but it is not her favorite thing. She might be allergic to chlorine as it made it quite itchy post swimming in our pool. Lolo might have some skin allergies but with regular baths and good food, we have been able to manage them. She is taking some supplements for that as well.

She would love to be adopted by a family that is not away from home for very long hours, as she loves having companionship. She also loves other dogs but loves people more. We think she will be fine being an only dog. She is not a barker at all, will not make a good guard dog. She barks sometimes on walks if she gets spooked by something but it is VERY rare.

She met a few cats and was very interested in them and chasing---so no cats for this lady. She is great with kids and has a very soft mouth and takes treats gently. Very young toddlers might overwhelm her though.
