Those looking to adopt: Courtesy listings are provided as a public service. They are basically free want-ads. SCLRR does not evaluate the dogs that appear in the courtesy listings. You should take care to meet the dog you’re interested in and conduct your own evaluation of the dog before adopting it. Also, please notify us immediately if you feel someone is using this service to sell a dog or puppies for profit.

All entries are automatically deleted after two weeks; upon request by the animal’s owner, an SCLRR volunteer can delete the listing sooner.

My friend is looking to rehome her female, blonde, 52 lbs Labrador mix. Named Lady. She is about a year and a half old was adopted from West Valley animal shelter about seven months ago. She is a very sweet girl who will need training and a lot of patience to help her overcome her shyness of people. She uses a doggie door to go potty outside, She loves to play with her toys and bury them in the yard. She’s only been around a smaller dog that lived with them for a while and she did OK with the little dog, but she’s not been around any other dogs so they aren\'t sure how she would be with others. My friend has had several other people, including children visit her home, and her dog has never shown any aggression towards anyone that she has observed. Lady is incredibly shy of people but in way where she will let you approach but she is timid and lets you but she is unsure and trusting you will be nice to her. She is happy when her family is home but she gets bored easily when they leave and she will dig in the garden or chew on things she shouldn’t. She seems to love their pond a lot and loves water. She needs a family that will love her and have patience with her and train her so she has other outlets for her, then chewing on things. My friends husband is dying of cancer and are in their 70/80’s and can not keep up with this little girl. They truly want her to go to a loving home that she will be happy at. They don\'t want to have to take her back to west valley, she is a sweet girl but they have to focus on her husbands health. Located in Northridge, Ca. Please contact me for photos and videos.

BLACK FEMALE, 2 YEAR(s).

Reece is a sweet, energetic, and loyal 2-year-old purebred black lab who is looking for her forever home! With her boundless energy and love for play, she loves games like tug and fetch, making her a great companion for an active individual or family. Although Reece has a manageable medical issue (she\'s on Proin ER for USMI - Urethral Sphincter Mechanism Incompetence), she’s in good health and is doing well with her current treatment plan. This does not affect her ability to enjoy life to the fullest! She’s a wonderful, loving dog in our home, and we know she’ll be just as amazing in yours. She has been a lovely dog in our home but we think she would do better in a less busy home (yard, on property, etc) and with older kids (teenagers). She loves being with other dogs, we think she would do well with another dog in the home, no cats. Reece has had basic training, but would benefit from further training.
