2024-12-19: Let me introduce myself: I am Sophie, the quiet queen. I am an 8 year old chocolate Lab and I come from a long line of AKC chocolate Labs with names that reflect our glorious dark brown coloring. My beautiful thick fur has lovely curls, especially around my neck and down my back. What gives me joy is everyone around me at all times, like my own little court. I am looking for my new home with a family that enjoys my love and attention and wants to lavish their love on me as well. My foster dad says I'm very smart. I am completely housetrained and know how to use a doggy door. I don't even counter surf! My favorite pastime is being with my humans and being part of their everyday life. I enjoy playing catch and going for walks and hikes, and of course lots of hugs and scratches! I love meeting other humans of all sizes, other dogs and all the wonderful smells. My first family was good to me and I learned a lot. Unfortunately, they were very busy and weren't around much. I understand lots of commands and I am very observant and patient. I know I'm not a puppy anymore, but I have lots of energy for walks and playing catch. Take me for a walk, and let me run free I'm on cloud nine. As soon as I see someone reach for my leash, I start to tap dance with joy. It's a bit hard to slow down at first on our walks, but as soon as I get a little bit of energy out, I will match pace with my human. SCLRR had a scare early on with me because I had a UTI that went undiagnosed before I came to SCLRR. This caused high liver values in my blood work - but my UTI is now gone and my liver values are back to normal - and I can't wait to meet my new family! My ideal family won't leave me alone for long periods of time. If you have another dog, that would be wonderful, but all I really need is a loving home with people that want to spend time with me and I will repay their love one thousand fold! If you are interested in meeting me, please contact your family rep.
online application to adopt; an SCLRR volunteer will then contact you. Please note that your homecheck must be approved in order for you to be put in touch with the dog's foster home. |
